Donald Trump, business dealmaker-turned-TV superstar, has negotiated a big pay raise for the next two editions of "The Apprentice," the NBC reality TV series in which he stars, the U. S. newspaper Los Angeles Times reported Monday.

During the excruciating torture scenes, a few muffled sobs and gasps could be heard. No wonder: one segment depicting the scourging of Jesus by Roman guards lasts a full 10 minutes and by the end Jesus is an all but unrecognizable mass of bloody, flayed tissue. “When I saw the scene where Jesus took 40 lashes, I thought, ‘I couldn’t take one',” said Bonnema, the patron who bought 6,000 tickets. Mel shows how violent it was. It really didn’t hit home for me until I saw this film.”
Bonnema’s son Jacob, 26, described the film as a “classic battle of good versus evil. I And love wins in the end. You’ll walk out more moved than ‘Saving Private Ryan’ or ‘Schindler’s List'.” “I never pictured him going through such torture,” said Ryan Bayron, an 18-year-old who attended with his father, Rod Bayron. Both were brought to tears by the conclusion of the film. - A woman collapsed in an East Wichita, Kansas theatre during the film this morning. Peggy Law apparently suffered a heart attack. She was pronounced dead a short time later at a medical center.

"Als ich die Szene sah, in der Jesus 40 Hiebe erhielt, dachte ich: 'Ich hätte keinen einzigen aushalten können'," sagte Bonnema, der 6000 Tickets gekauft hatte. Mel zeigt, wie gewalttätig es war. Ich bin mir dessen wirklich nicht bewußt gewesen, bis ich diesen Film gesehen hatte".

Beide waren am Schluß zu Tränen gerührt. - Eine Frau brach am Morgen in einem Kino in East Wichita, US-Staat Kansas während des Films zusammen. Peggy Law erlitt einen Herzanfall. Kurze Zeit später wurde im Krankenhaus der Tod festgestellt.

Feisty soul singer Fantasia Barrino was voted the newest "American Idol" on Wednesday after a nationwide television search for the nation's next pop star.
Barrino, 19, edged out rival Diana DeGarmo at the end of the hit reality TV show that saw 70,000 wannabes audition in a bid to win a recording contract and instant stardom. Producers said a total of 65 million votes were called in by telephone or text message on Tuesday after lines were kept open an extra two hours and extra numbers added to counter logjams and busy signals that have called voting procedures into question. Victory was sweet for Barrino, a black single mom from North Carolina who had twice narrowly escaped being booted off by viewers earlier in the season in favor of cuter but weaker singers.
