Worried about Britney Spears:
"Rock Bottom" Ahead?
The total Britney surprise came during the weekend. She visited the tattoo-shop "Body and Soul" in Sherman Oaks, California, in order to have a pair of red and pink lips put on her wrist. But, what shocked the staff and alarmed the television station, KABC-TV in Los Angeles: Britney Spears is totally bald! Is this supposed to be the start of her new career, announced by the media around the world?
As the world famous singer seems to try entering into a rehab program, her former assistant Felicia Culotta has expressed fears about her "heading for rock bottom", People Magazine and TMZ are reporting. Supposedly, Spears checked into Eric Clapton's Crossroads Center in Antigua, but checked out again within only 24 hours. Since filing for divorce from fellow musician Kevin Federline in November, Britney has been criticized for drinking, partying and "sloppy appearance", CBS News is reporting.
Now, why in the world should we report all this? Well, Britney Spears is, based on Internet statistics, right near the center of the interest of the young generation. She is a phenomenon - influencing societies in the west. Her success - but also, her obvious problems, do not belong to her alone. There are dimensions not atypical for young women her age. The difference is, that she can afford to live them out in public.
